Peyronie’s disease is a problem by which scarring, called a plaque, types within the penis—the male wood employed for urination and sex. The plaque accumulates within the cells of the heavy, flexible membrane called the tunica albuginea. The most typical location for that plaque is on top or base of the penis. Whilst the plaque accumulates, the penis will curve or bend, which could cause painful erections.
