How are text messages sent?
Text messages are sent via SMPP through our unique shortcode ñ67553î.
The short code is a 5 digit number that appears on the users phone when any text message is received. Users can also reply to your text message blasts by replying directly to the short code via text.
SMPP (shor-code).
Messages which are sent via SMTP typically take longer to receive and there is no guarantee on delivery. This is because SMTP utilizes mail server gateways which are not necessarily authorized to access wireless SMS gateway servers with high volumes of messages. This causes delayed deliveries, and dropped messages because SMTP servers are programmed to automatically greylist any host which sends an excess of messages through itÍs server. In other words the SMTP server identifies you as a spammer – regardless if your not. Once this happens either your messages are suspended and are queued for later delivery, or they go into a ñblack holeî which means the SMTP server does not respond with a delivery error allowing you to assume the message was successfully sent when instead it was simply deleted and will never be received.
SMPP or short code delivery is designed specifically for bulk SMS text message blasting.
One major different between SMPP (shortcode) and SMTP is that SMPP is a direct link to the wireless company where as SMTP is only a connection to a server which must connect to another server, and then another server, and so on before it finally reaches itÍs destination.
It is also difficult to support a large variety of wireless providers when using SMTP delivery because many wireless carriers change their SMS SMTP gateways or simply do not have one.
Where as a short code (SMPP) is a direct link to the wireless carrier, you are guaranteed direct delivery to the users cell phone.

How do I add contacts?
There are several ways you can add contacts to your list or group.
Do I have to know the carrier of each contact when adding them?
No. Our system automatically detects the wireless carrier for each contact. All that is needed is the phone number.
Can people subscribe to my contact list directly from my web site?
Yes. Simply add the Txt Mobster widget to your web site and visitors will be able to add their cell phone directly to your contact list. Adding the Txt Mobster widget to your site is just as simple as adding a YouTube video to your site. Simply copy & paste the generated code provided when you log into your Txt Mobster account under "widgets"
Can people subscribe to my contact list from their mobile phone?

Do I need to enter phone numbers manually or can users subscribe to my alerts on their own?
Users can subscribe to your list on their own by texting TheGroupName or YourKeyWord to 76553. Users can also subscribe to your alerts directly from your web site if simply by embedding the Txt Mobster widget.
I already have a list of contacts , can I import them into my contact list?
Yes. You can import your list of contacts directly into your Txt Mobster contact list. There is no limitation of contacts. You can have several hundred to several million.
Can I schedule an automated text message blast for a specific date and time?
Yes. You can setup scheduled text message blasting to all of your contacts for a specific date and time. You can do this by logging into your control panel and clicking ñschedule blastî
Can users on my contact list respond to my text messages? If so how do I view them?
Yes. Your users can respond to any text message. You can view each response by accessing your Inbox when logging into your control panel.
Can I have each text blast sent as if itÍs coming from my own telephone number or my own short-code?
Currently all text message blasts are sent through our short code 67553 unless you have your own short code.
Our platform supports multiple short-codes and if you have a dedicated short code that you would like to use then we can add that to your account.
I need to send several million text messages each month / day. Can your system handle that?
Yes. Whether you need to send 100 text messages , 10 million , or a billion. Our system can handle any volume of messages.
How many contacts can I have?
You can have as many contacts as you wish. Our billing structure is based on how many messages you sent. For example if you pay for 2500 credits (each credit = 1 text message) and you have 3000 contacts, only the first 2500 of those contacts will receive the message.
Do my contacts need to subscribe or can I add them without them knowing?
You can add your contacts without them knowing simply by entering of importing their information into your contact list.
However it is recommended that your subscribers opt-in to receive your alerts.
How many messages can I send?

How fast is your system? How long will it take to mass text all of my contacts?
Our system can process several hundred text messages per second.
Will all of my text messages go through?
Yes. Just as if youÍre making a phone call your text message will be delivered. If the user has their phone off, does not have text messages supported with their wireless plan, or is a non-service zone, your message will not be delivered.
Do I need to download any software? What are the requirements for my computer?
You do not need to download any software. All you need is a computer (or phone) with a web browser connected to the internet.
Do I need to provide a cell phone number to activate an account?
It is not required to provide a cell phone number , but it is recommended.
Do you place advertisements into my mass text messages?
No. We do not place any advertisements of any sort into any of our customers text messages.
Can I tell users to text a specific word or code and configure it to automatically send back specific details or information?
Yes. You can make these configurations to your keyword / groupname simply by logging into your Txt mobster account.
How do users unsubscribe their cell phone from my list? Do they have to go to the web site or can they unsubscribe from their phone?
Every text message alert must support the STOP command. By default if the user responds with STOP via text message, they will automatically be removed from your list.
Txt Mobster also has a general DO-NOT-TEXT list. If a user enters their number into this list from our web site then they will be unable to receive any text message from our short code regardless of your keyword / group name.
It is very important that you do not text users on your contact list who have either requested to be taken off or have removed themselves automatically. The FTC has spam laws specific to text messaging and if a user continues to receive messages after requesting to be removed you can be fined several hundred to several thousand dollars.
Do you have any limitations for adult content or adult related businesses?
No. However U.S federal law requires that you do not solicit adult related material to any persons under 18 years of age.
Can I view a report after each text message blast is sent? What information do I get after each text blast completes?
Yes. A detailed report is generated after every text message blast. This report contains information such as time and date, message text, how many contacts were blasted, successful deliveries, unsuccessful deliveries, pending re-deliveries, etc.
